On
the Nebraska Wesleyan University faculty
since 1973, Ms. Henderson teaches theory,
counterpoint, form & analysis, composition,
string methods, piano, strings, and the
Recorder Ensemble. She has received a BA
from Nebraska Wesleyan University, MA in
theory from Eastman School of Music, and
MM in composition and viola performance
from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Ms. Henderson is currently a doctoral student
at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in
composition, studying with Dr. Randall Snyder.
She has attended master classes with Lukas
Foss and Libby Larsen.
The
Wesleyan University Choir debuted Ms. Henderson's
arrangement of The Ash Grove on their
1997 winter tour. A clip

The choir performed her song cycle, Bluestem
and Sumac with poetry by Twyla Hansen
on their 1999 tour of the Southwest.
Ms. Henderson plays viol in a Lincoln early
music group. She occasionally plays viola
with the Lincoln Orchestra and various string
quartets.
Ms. Henderson received the Ida M Vreeland
composition Award in 1994, a Regents Tuition
Fellowship and the Frank and Marie T Wheeler
Fellowship from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
for the 1995-96 academic year, and the 1995
Lillian Harlan Ramage composition award
from Mu Phi Epsilon. In July 2000, her Ricercar
for 4 viols was chosen for performance by
the New York consort of Viols for the Traynor
Competition at the VdGSA Conclave in Portland
OR.
