Dr. Masako Nakamura Bacon is Associate Director of Music at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she is organist and director of the handbell choirs. At Nebraska Wesleyan University she is an Adjunct Professor of Organ.
She earned her BM in voice performance from Kobe College in Japan. Her Masters in Church Music (organ) is from Concordia University Wisconsin. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She taught general music, college entrance music theory, and girls¹ chorus as the assistant director at Hagoromogakuen Junior/Senior High, where she led tours to China, Poland, Australia, Lithuania, Switzerland, and Austria.
Masako has served as a church organist since 1984. She has given solo and duo organ recitals at churches and concert halls in Kobe, Osaka, and Tokyo in Japan, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Evanston, Imperial, and Lincoln. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists where she holds AAGO (Associate of American Guild of Organists). Her instructors include Mrs. Naoko Sano, Sr. Mary Hueller, Dr. John Behnke, Dr. Marilyn Stulken, Dr. George Ritchie, and Dr. Quentin Faulkner.
